The Alaska Native Women's Coalition has been busy the last 6 months, we have done trainings in Fort Yukon, Tanana and Fairbanks.  Our Grandmother's House is operating at full capacity and we are looking for different ways to continue our funding.  We will be making an announcement for the upcoming Statewide meeting.  Thanks for your support

Advocate’s Role:

  • To act as the biased supporter of women; advocating for the expressed interests and safety of women (and their children), including safe space and other resources to regain control over their lives.
  • To provide leadership and expertise based on women’s experiences within justice, law enforcement, social service and medical systems.
  • To prioritize women’s safety and offender accountability in all aspects of the work, including maintaining confidentiality.

Mission Statement for ANWC

We are committed to the elimination of personal and societal violence in the lives of women and children.  We are dedicated to the empowerment of all victims and believe in the right of all people to live without fear, threat and oppression.

We believe that through exploring the traditional cultures of the native people of Alaska and taking a closer look at the historical impact of colonization, we can begin to better understand the grassroots causes for the increase in domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking incidents.
